POLYURETHANE-FOAMS
|
|
|
|
::: Material Characteristics
|
|
|
We used nature as our model.
There are many samples in our natural environment for the following
principle: to produce a material, which is not only compact, but
also built up like honeycombs in a cellular construction, which
guarantees high solidity in spite of low weight and economical need
of materials.
Polyurethane-foam has an open-pore-structure with a very wide range
of applications. Therefore we meet this material nearly everywhere
and troughout the day. Polyurethane-foam is a safe and stable organic
material, chich is being produced out of crude-oil by various synthetic
processes.
|
::: Special Characteristics
|
 |
load-capacity & elasticity
Polyurethane-foam has a high load-capacity but is elastic and flexible
like a down-filled cushion at the same time; the required material
features are being achieved by adjusting the production process.
|
physiologically neutral
Polyurethane-foam is physiologically neutral and regarding toxicity-characteristics
it is generally recognized as safe. |
resistant
Polyurethane-foam is highly resistant against acids, alkaline solutions
and moisture. In addition to that, the open-pore-structure effects
the compensation of temperature-differences. |
purifying
Polyurethane-foam can easily be purified, washed or disinfected. |
Noise
Polyurethane-foam effects a very good noise-absorption. |
thermal conductivity
The thermal conductivity of Polyurethane-foam is approx. 0,04 W/mK. |
CFC
The production of Eurofoam-polyurethane-foams is strictly done without
using CFC's, heavy-metal-elements and AZO-colors. |
|
Environment
Polyurethane-foam is not corrosive and does not spoil ground-water
sources. In case of incineration the same amount of critical elements
will be set free as during the incineration of other organic materials,
such as: wood, coal, leather or cork.
|
::: Applications |
Eurofoam is producing Polyurethane-foams
as Polyether- and Polyester-Qualities.
These foams are being used in many different branches, such as: |
| Polyether |
Furniture
Mattresses
Upholstered furniture |
| Polyester |
Textiles
Shoulder pads
Noise protection |

|
Automotive (private and commercial
vehicles, lamination)
Household articles (cleansing and bath sponges)
Shoes |

::: Production |
|
|
Raw- and process materials (such as: polyol,
TDI, water, emulsifying agents, stabilizers and colors) are being
transported by pumps and via separated piping systems towards a
mixing head . After agitating and mixing all components the mixture
is being applied smoothly to a paper-covered conveyor-belt with
adjustable width. The conveyor-belt is moving at a speed between
3 - 9 meters per minute, and produces an "endless" block
up to a height of 1 meter, which depends on the required density.
According to specific recipes Eurofoam can produce foams with equal
densities, but different compression stress values.
|
|
The result: a very big variety of foam qualities,
which enables Eurofoam to meet nearly all specific customer´s
demands and applications. At the end of the production line the
blocks are being cut into lengths and stored for the ripening process.
|
| The most important advantages
of the Eurofoam production-facility are: |
|
high and constant
level of quality as a result of computer-assisted check of recipes
|
|
changing of recipes
and/or colors during the production-process is possible |
|
the width of blocks
can be varied during the production-process |
::: Ready-made products |
| After the necessary ripening process the
blocks of polyurethane-foam are being transported to the various cutting-
and machining centers. |
| According to customer's requirements, Eurofoam
delivers flexible ready-made solutions: |
 |
| |
cut-into-lengths-blocks, with or
without trimming |
| |
rolls, with or without trimming |
| |
rolls out of short-cut-blocks, for
small quantities, without specified lengths per roll |
